In this 6th episode of Dawah Training, we discuss understanding the nature and characteristics of people in order to better connect.
1 First is to contextualise this aspect by reflecting on some of the learning
objectives of the previous episodes:
- Concept of Dawah
- Importance of knowing Allah
2 Awakening the fitrah
- Connecting with others by our natural human ability for reason, emotion, reflection and communication.
- The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Every child is born with a fitrah (natural instinct for tawhid). His parents then nurture him into being Jewish, Christian or Magian (pagan)….” ~Bukhari & Muslim~
- What is the fitrah
– Knowing that Allah exists
– Allah is worthy of worship and submission
“So be steadfast in faith with devoted righteousness, the natural way
that God has created all. Let there be no change.That is the correct way
but most people do not know.” ~Quran 30:30~
- Identifying, as an expression of their fitrah, person-specific key aspects (rationale, emotional, spiritual, etc.) that can be used to effectively communicate/connect with Islam.
- Developing a communication bridge between Islam and, as an expression of their fitrah, their personal ideals (rational, emotional, spiritual, etc.)
