Alima Ashfaq is a prominent Islamic scholar and educator known for her work in empowering Muslim women through knowledge and spiritual growth. She is the founder and director of two impactful initiatives, “I am Alima” and “Women of Ilm.” These organizations aim to assist Muslim women in drawing closer to Allah through Islamic knowledge and reviving Islamic scholarship among women in the West.
Ashfaq is currently pursuing her studies in Islamic sciences, with a particular focus on memorizing the Quran and attaining an ‘ijazah in the science of tajweed. Her commitment to education is evident in her roles as an instructor at the Islamic Online University and a lecturer at various universities across the UK, including the University of Birmingham and Sheffield University.
She has authored several books such as “Du’as of Superstars,” “Love Unveiled,” and “Falling in Love,” and has contributed to numerous blogs and publications like Muslim Matters and Productive Muslim. Her work often addresses the intersection of modernity and Islamic tradition, emphasizing the empowerment that comes from adhering to the Quran and Sunnah. She regularly conducts personal development workshops and lectures on topics related to mental health, human behavior, marriage, and parenting
